Tourists from the Nordic countries contributed 3,646 million euros during their visits to Spain from January to July. That is a rise of 6.8 per cent since the same period last year. In total, foreign tourism contributed 34,497 million euros during the first seven months of the year, a rise of seven per cent.
Nordic tourists contribute the third highest sum, after the British (6,812 million) and German tourists (5,461 million euros). The figures are the result of the Egatur survey (Encuesta del Gasto Turístico), carried out by the tourism department and based on transport, accommodation, restaurants, travel agencies and spending on culture, recreation and sport.
