During the third quarter of this year, 12,000 property purchases were made in Spain by foreigners. 6.38 per cent of the purchases were made by Swedes, who are now in fourth place among foreigners buying property in Spain. 13.52 per cent of all property purchases in Spain during the third quarter were made by foreigners, the second best figure in history. It is mainly Britons, French, Swedes and Germans who buy a home under the Spanish sun. Only in the fourth quarter of 2014 were there more foreigners than Spaniards buying property, at 13.8 per cent.
Among foreign buyers, the British are the largest group with 23.12 per cent of purchases, followed by the French at 8.71, Germans at 6.40, and Swedes at 6.38 per cent.
